He does not give a shit about Atlanta, either. He gives a shit about Ken Griffey Jr. Just like he always has.

...and should he not give a shit about himeself? He has only been with 3 teams in his career, if you want to include the Sox. He was drafted by the Mariners and went to Cincy, where he grew up....blame him? He wants the convenience of being close to home and his family. The Mariners suck and so do the Braves....but at least he does not have to play out here and endure sucking AND be away from his family. He saved this city from losing the M's and now wants to end his career playing for Bobby Cox like he always wanted....he gonna wear Cincy colors in the HOF anyways.....

Thanks for the history lesson in teams Griffey played for. I was unaware...

I am not blaming him for anything. I was merely pointing out the ridiculousness of your statement that "he does not give a shit about this town." Of course he does not. He never did.

If he goes into the HOF as a Red, he's a bigger idiot than I ever realized. Not only has he played the majority of his career in Seattle, but his career in Seattle is the only thing that will get him in the HOF. When people think about Griffey, nobody thinks of his extremely mediocre years in Cinci, they think of him as the All-World Center Fielder in Seattle.

Uh...Sorry SIS but he can't go into the HOF as a Red much like Gary Carter couldn't as a Met.

The HALL OF FAME decides the hat worn on the plaque, Carter HAD to go in as an Expo even though he wanted to have a Mets' hat on.

Griffey will HAVE to go in as a Mariner, his Reds career was a joke...398 of his HRs are with the M's, over half of his career hits are with the M's, and his only postseason HRs are with the M's...He never even appeared in a postseason game with Cincinatti, so no...He'll have to go in as a Mariner.

I DONT want Griffey here as a player or to go in as a Mariner into the HOF.
Its a ticket selling, media bunch of shit. Let him go to ATL and him and Glavine can compare surgery scars and talk about why viagra is better then cialis....

Hey M's..go find some real talent.....build on the future not the past......

I'm with Scott. Not until I see him in a uniform.

Regardless, I still think he is in it for Griffey only and if he signs with the M's, it is for selfish reasons. Not because he wants to do Seattle any favors.

(Caveat for SIS: No I do not blame him for wanting to be close to home. No I do not blame him for doing what he feels is best for himself.)

Griffey is officially back. Damn, he will bring in a lot of fans. The M's were smart do to this from a business perspective. Lots of money will be made off him.

I knew the longer it drug out the better it was for Seattle though...Hell yeah!

He's going to get a cut of ticket sales over a certain point so...Yeah, they're going to draw a large crowd...Junior is banking on it..

I've heard that an incentive kicks in if the attendance increases by 200,000 this season, which shouldn't be hard.

It's attendance and his performance at bat.
