The Seahawks will have a new uniform in 2012. How drastically the uniform will change is up for debate at this point.
Nike takes over the NFL contract ($1.1 billion for 5-years), and we are already starting to see some changes on the NFL fashion front.
While the NFL and its teams won't give Nike Carte Blanche to redo every aspect, it will usher in a more creative era for the colorful cloths which have taken on so much meaning in various cities and to various franchises.
The ability to re-interpret, re-organize and reveal something new about something as traditional as the NFL is what creativity and art is all about. Can it be done?

Aaron Rodgers and others knows it's a foregone conclusion that his backup quarterback, Matt Flynn will not remain with the Packers but will be a starter on an NFL team next season.
Two teams have been mentioned as a destination for the 26-year old unrestricted free-agent quarterback, one of them is the Seahawks.
"John Schneider knows Matt and he's pulling some strings up there with them,"Rodgers said on his weekly radio show in Milwaukee.
"I think that would be an opportunity for him up there. Those are probably, in my opinion, the two top dogs that would go after him."
Schneider worked in the Packers front office from 2002 until he was hired as the Seahawks GM two years...

Pete Carroll and John Schneider might be the most unpredictable front office duo in the NFL when it comes to player acquisitions.
When it comes to the draft Pete is still not far enough removed from the college game not to have certain opinions about guys who came across the national radar while he was recruiting or whom he coached against while at USC or even in some cases recruited and...

Former Seahawks quarterback and Washington native Jon Kitna will call it a career after 16 seasons in the NFL.
Yes, 16 years in a job more analyzed and dissected than perhaps any job in the nation-and he showed tremendous staying power. It's not easy being a journeyman quarterback. The hype and endorsements don't come easy but as Steve Rudman of SportsPress Northwest highlights, Kitna had a tremendous career.
Rudman writes, "While Kitna will never be regarded as among the best undrafted quarterbacks in NFL history – Moon heads that group with nine Pro Bowl appearances, with...

Though Pete Carroll said two weeks ago he didn't expect major roster changes-the Seahawks have the task of re-signing 18 free agents.
And there is always that lingering feeling that Carroll and John Schneider won't be satisfied with bringing back the same roster which won seven games.
Chief among the free agents is running back Marshawn Lynch-who will get paid and re-signed- unless Lynch doesn't want to stay in Seattle. So far there is no indication that he is unhappy in Seattle.
Offensively at quarterback Charlie Whitehurst has done some good things for the team in the past but using his roster spot on another backup or a first-round quarterback wouldn't make too many people upset.
Running back Justin Forsett carried the ball 46...

Tom Cable, to the public at large, is mostly known for allegedly striking Raiders assistant coach Randy Hanson during a team meeting in 2009 while Cable was the head coach in Oakland and for then being fired unmercifully about a year ago by Al Davis.
After muscling the Silver and Black to an overachieving 8-8 record, Cable was let go by Davis-a move many people within the NFL felt was unfair. Cable, it seemed, was just another man who was used like a chess piece in the late-great Raiders owners confusing and self-defeating game of chess.
It took Cable two weeks to land on his feet again in the NFL. He was brought back to the Northwest where he graduated from high...

The Seahawks have finished with a 7-9 record for the second straight season, losing 23-20 in OT to the Arizona Cardinals.
Sunday's game was a failure by the offense to score points and move the ball when they really needed to-combined with a very good Seattle defense which wasn't able stop a one-man show named Larry Fitzgerald. The All-Pro wideout may not have been stopped regardless of what team was defending him.
Fitzgerald caught nine passes for 149 yards, including a one-handed catch which set up the game-winning field goal.
"He's just an incredible football player and he's as good as you can get at this game," Pete Carroll. "I just marvel at the things he does."
The Cardinals were also able to run the ball at a pretty good...

Roster turnover was the name of the game for the Seahawks last offseason, but that won't be the norm according to Carroll.
"These guys aren't coming back thinking they'll be a lot of changes," he said Friday. "They're coming back here to play on this team and be together. We don't see wholesale changes."
Carroll was inveitiably asked this week about the future of Tarvaris Jackson this week leading up to the Seahawks final game of the 2011 regular season.
And the coach, known to accentuate the positive, inevitably answered that Jackson is the team's starting quarterback for the future.
The question posed to Carroll: "In terms of you quarterback situation, has T-Jack done enough for you to feel comfortable...
