Good listen. I especially agree with what Millen has to say starting around the 8 to 9 minute mark.

If there was some way of knowing that Russell could duplicate what he did vs TEN and DEN every game during the regular season, then I'm ALL IN!! I'm just concerned. Guesss I need to just trust in ComPete and let things play out. He just hasn't been stellar with QBs up until now.....
See, its answers like that which give me the feeling they already have their minds made up.... But Pete is never honest or direct with what he says. It's frustrating!
I would start the QB that is better suited to play in the NFL RIGHT NOW. Flynn has shown this preseason and in his two regular season starts that he can manage this type of offense very well. Flynn will not dazzle you with deep bombs and 30+ yard scrambles. Flynn will dink and dunk, make good...
Who are we playing? If it's Denvers back-ups, I'm going with Wilson 10 out 10 times. If we're playing a Baltimore, with a hard nosed defense, then I'm going Flynn. Smart defenses are going to figure Russell out, and they will exploit him and cause him to make rookie mistakes.
And I am...
Sando wrote about it here http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/id/72153/let-the-debate-rage-flynn-or-wilson , second to last paragraph. Also, Warren Moon and Curt Menefee would not shut up about it during the game.
BTW, is it just me or does Moon have a huge man crush on Wilson. It's kind...
BTW, everyone keeps writing about how great of a play Wilson made throwing the ball to Tuinei while being dragged to the ground.... Well first off all, Wilson said himself he was trying to throw the ball away and Tuinei just made a great play. Second, against most starting defenses that ugly...
I just have a bad feeling that Russell will have a really good game and Pete will get all PC - "Gosh Im so jacked up!! Isn't this kid great?! Gosh he's great!! Boy, I'm really excited for our program!!" and name Wilson the starter.
Wilson is more talented than Matt, and will probably be the...
Maybe this is the final opportunity to make sure that Russell can handle stepping in for Flynn, incase Matt goes down during the regular season. It would give Pete the peace of mind to move forward with Matt as starter and Russell as back-up and deal/release TJack. God, I hope that's whats...
KC actually has a pretty solid defense. They have a solid D line, Hali at LB and a good secondary with Berry and Flowers. It will be a true test for Wilson. I wish Flynn was playing instead cause all 3 of our first preseason games were against pretty good defenses.
Not good! If this is true, and I hope it is not, then we might be in trouble.
I truly believed Pete had Flynn pegged as the starter by now and was just going through the motions. The 3rd preseason is the most crucial game for the starters as they play most of the game. Throwing Wilson in...
I think he was hurt most of last season. Plus, SF does not really employ a WR friendly system and their QB throws mostly to TEs/RBs.
I think comparing his most recent stint with the Jets would be more accurate.
On a lighter note, the Broncos second unit offense/defense looked putrid! I don't know if our back-ups are just that good or theirs are really bad. Either way, if Manning goes down, I think the Donkies will be lucky enough to win a game with Ole' "Osweiler the Giant" back under center.
Not a big fan of Bucky Brooks, but this is a pretty good article about the said "competition".

I especially like his conclusion. Echos most level headed fans and talking heads...
Slow’er down fellers….
Russell looked sensational, again, against the back-ups backs-ups and camp bodies…. Now I am not completely discrediting what he has done, just trying to put things into perspective. I’m as excited about this kids potential as everyone else. I think we may have found us...
