Flynn in way more ready to play in the NFL than anyone in the draft except probably Andrew Luck. He's had years of "work" in Green Bay. I have some pretty big questions about his upside, but he's more ready than any of the other alternatives... Except, like I said, possibly Luck and obviously...
If we sign another back, I doubt we draft one as high as James will end up going. That would mean we would be set to carry 5 backs, if were were willing to do that we would have kept Clayton last year.
After Luck and RG3 this years QB class is extremely underwhelming. There's not much we can do there, I'd rather have Flynn than Tannehill, or any of the other QBs that will be available to us.
I'm not falling over myself because of this deal. I'm not a Flynn hater, but I'm definitely a skeptic. That being said, its a pretty low risk signing so I'm happy with it.
Jackson and Flynnn will probably compete for the starting job. Jackson is more familiar with this system than any other QB in the league, so he'll be around to help Flynn learn the nuances of Bevell's system. Trufant was released. Haven't heard much on Okung, Clipboard Jesus is back in San Diego.
The Chiefs signed Tackle Eric Winston. Could make things interesting in the draft, Riley Reiff will most likely be there for our pick. I can really see us moving Carpenter to LG, then drafting a tackle..
Only a week until the draft, join if you're interested. All the info you need to join is provided in the first post of the thread, as well as the link to the sign up page. There are 7 open spots.
Ida, did you try to join? Because I don't see you in the league.
I honestly find it hard to see anyway anyone could be completely sold on him... But I guess we all see things differently.
I found this interesting (although it does ramble on quite a bit): http://www.fieldgulls.com/2012/3/16/2877821/matt-flynn
We apparently have interest in Curtin Lofton, I wouldn't mind that at all. We need some more athletic LBs. I like Hawthorne, but he's awful in coverage. Maybe some of that has to do with him being hurt last year, but I think Lofton would be an upgrade. Then we either bring Hill back or we have...
The Dolphins apparently made a "low-ball offer" to Flynn, I get why Flynn finds Miami attractive with his former OC and the weather and what not... But Now that Marshall is gone, who's he going to throw to? Reggie Bush is their biggest receiving threat. We have a much better offensive personnel...
