Seahawks take DT Jimmy Staten in fifth round
By Danny O'Neil
RENTON – The Seahawks used their lone fifth-round pick on defensive tackle Jimmy Staten from Middle Tennessee State.
He missed spring drills with a knee injury, and that may have hampered him during his fifth season.
He's only the third defensive tackle the Seahawks drafted in the five years under general manager John Schneider. He's the first player the Seahawks drafted from a non-BCS conference this year. Seattle had taken seven players from non-BCS schools over the previous two drafts
