Of the 663 Monday Night Football games in the history of the NFL, few have unfolded this way.

Seattle was nearly on its way to its second loss of the season, a game that would have been labeled as "one that got away". Then with eight seconds left, "the play" happened:

A mini-hail mary from Russell Wilson to Golden Tate. Tate caught the pass, right?or did Packers defensive back M.D. Jennings?

A simultaneous possession if you will.

The NFL's worst nightmare, aka the replacement refs, ruled it a touchdown. After a review in the replay booth and subsequent chaos, the ruling on the field was upheld. And just like that, Seattle is 2-1.

A hard fought 2-1.

Maybe it was poetic justice that the Seahawks won the game.

So many bounces in recent history have gone against the Seahawks. If effort is eventually rewarded, Seattle got its due on Monday night.

Seattle's defense played an inspired game. For the most part Packers receivers were blanketed and the pass rush produced eight first half sacks of Aaron Rodgers. That alone made the game one of the most memorable.

There was no question Seattle brought the wood to Green Bay and exploited their offensive line, led by rookie Bruce Irvin along with Chris Clemons. Russell Wilson and Co. played hard. Marshawn Lynch did his thing.

Golden Tate deserves all the credit in the world for even putting the Seahawks in a position for the game to end on a controversial play.

Tate did push off, and perhaps M.D. Jennings did have an interception, but the Seahawks deserve to be 2-1 and maybe the Packers do to.
