Surprised no one has posted this yet. Ichiro became the first player EVER to have 9 straight 200+ hit seasons. The only player with more 200+ hit seasons is Pete Rose with 10 (they weren't all consecutive like Ichiro's). But Ichiro has shown no signs of slowing down at an age where ball players are usually showing signs of age Ichiro is still getting better. Ichiro, when it's all said and done, might put this streak where it's considered untouchable... maybe upwards of 15 seasons which would probably put him at about 3,500 hits in his MLB career and over 4,700 over all. With the Mariners moving in the right direction as an organization if they can add a couple more pieces to the puzzle maybe they can get him the one thing that's missing from his trophy case... a world series ring.

The only thing I don't like about Ichiro is he really doesn't CARE about adding a World Series ring....The guy is more concerned about personal stats (much like the sHit King Pete Rose), he's a statwhore who'd rather get an IF single to continue his streak rather try to jack one in a tight game..

He's got "HR Power" so he claims.....If so....That makes him a loser and a statwhore..He's more into getting his numbers than trying to park one in a tight game late.

I think TOPS Ichiro has 25 HR power, but he's a lead off guy. He does what lead off guys should do. And Ichiro isn't the one who claims he's got power it's the people who watch him take BP.

I think the reason why it looks like Ichi doesn't care about winning is because since '01 he really hasn't had a chance to win... This year he's had a change of attitude, he's having fun and wants to win. Next year we'll make the playoffs and He'll play out of his mind.
