WSU's Brandon Gibson

The guy is insanely underrated because he played on a terrible team out in the middle of nowhere, but he's a big strong WR that makes some ridiculous catches. If this guy is available for the Seahawks 4th round pick, we'd be stupid not to pick him up. He's tall (6'1"), he's got good hands, and he's not afraid of making catches across the middle. I know we have some WSU fans in here, so what do you guys think?

Disclaimer: While I hate everything WSU, I played high school basketball with this guy at Rogers in Puyallup and I'm still fairly good friends with him so there may be a slight bias in this post.

He's actually 6'0", 210. Can't find his 40 time or anything else.

From what I read on NFL.com, he has short speed, not the long speed. He was the leading receiver in the Pac-10 back in '07. He will probably be an Undrafted Free Agent that the Seahawks take a look at.

I'd be shocked if he doesn't get drafted. Last year he was projected as a 3-4 rounder, and he did nothing to hurt that projection this past season.

He was on the WSU football team. That in and of itself is enough to drop you several rounds. He did have two touchdowns, which I believe is how many the whole team scored the entire season. :lol:

But back to the argument, Gibson is legit and we need to draft him.

You wanted TJ didn't you? His listed height is 6'1", same as Gibson's. I'm not saying we need to draft him in the first round, I'm saying he'd be a heck of a 4th round pick if he's still available.

I agree. A 6'3"+ guy would be nice. Gibson is listed at 6' and that in a receiver won't do much of anything. Having a tall guy with avg speed is what a lot of teams want. He can get the ball over the majority of corners in the NFL and can run down field and at least keep a good distance from the defense.

I apologize, I must have forgot that height is the only thing that matters. That would explain why Billy McMullen (6'4") has had a much better career than Steve Smith (5'9"), Bobby Engram (5'10"), and Steve Largent (5'11"). Silly me...

We never said size means everything. We said size as well as average speed would be the best way to go. Anyone can have a good career if everything works out for them. If they constantly have bad Quarterbacks or just never seem to get those lucky holes in the defense for big gains you won't.

Gibson seems good, but it's all up to the Seahawks, not us.

Could turn out to be an absolute steal in my opinion, and I am not a coug fan. He looks like the real deal talent wise but his stocks been hurt by playing on a team that had a really really bad year.

As far as size the NFL is trending that way, but most corners are still little guys, so 6' 1" is pretty good.

Yeah if he's around in the 4th or 5th round... Well I guess we don't have a 5th round pick... So if he's around in the 4th or 6th round I definitely wouldn't be upset with that pick.

Yes I wanted TJ but because he is a proven player.
Everybody wetted their pants over Crabtree because of his size :lol: :lol: :lol:
Look at the NFC West. Our CB's get their asses kicked by bigger WR's

We also do have Fitzgerald in our division along with Boldin. Jennings is nothing special, but if we cut him we actually lose cap space. Key reason he will be a 'Hawk come Sept. 09.
