Best of Ron Jaworski’s best await Legion of Boom
The Seahawks will face seven of Ron Jaworski's Top 11-ranked quarterbacks this season
Former Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski has revealed his Top 32 QBs in the NFL, and the Seahawks will face seven of the passers ranked among his 11 best this season.
The Legion of Boom secondary of cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner and safeties Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor will matchup against the two top quarterbacks on Jaworski’s list during the preseason – the Broncos’ Peyton Manning (No. 2) in their home opener on Aug. 17 and the Packers’ Aaron Rodgers (No. 1) to the following week (Aug. 23) in Green Bay.
During the regular season, the Seahawks are scheduled to face the Falcons’ Matt Ryan (No. 5) in Atlanta on Nov. 10; the Saints’ Drew Brees (No. 6) at CenturyLink Field on Dec. 2; the Texans’ Matt Schaub (No. 9) in Houston on Sept. 29; the Colts’ Andrew Luck (No. 10) in Indianapolis on Oct. 6; and the 49ers’ Colin Kaepernick (No. 11) twice – Sept. 15 at CenturyLink Field and Dec. 8 in San Francisco.
Last season, the Seahawks ranked No. 6 in average passing yards allowed while holding opposing QBs to a passer rating of 71.8 – third-best in the league behind the Cardinals (71.2) and Bears (71.3). Sherman tied for second in the league with eight interceptions and led the NFL with 24 passes defensed. Like Thomas, Sherman was voted All-Pro status.
