    I think it would be excessive if Goodell had not told them to cut it out and take care of it behind the scenes. But since they did not, it is more of a "Don't fuck with me" message. Good for him.

    Saints lost a second round pick for 2012 and 2013 , they had no 1st rounder or Goodell would have taken that too !

    I think they deserved more of a punishment considering their DC is on the Rams now.

    If Payton didn't try to cover it up, I'm sure he would have only got 8 games. It's going to be interesting what happens to the players. Vilma seems to be named a lot, so I'd assume he will get the biggest punishment.
