Fox's Ken Rosthenal is reporting the Mariners have shipped Brandon Morrow to the Blue Jays for RP Brandon League and a prospect, while Morrow is saying he has no knowledge he has been traded.

In a way you can see the mismanagement of Morrow during the Bavasi era as a microcosm of the mismanagement of the organization as a whole during that same time period. I kind of see this as the Bavasi era being completely over. I won't question Morrow's talent, but he so much of a project now that it's really not worth the effort. The one area I thought Z was kind of neglecting so far this off season was the bullpen. Then he turns around and gets two relievers and a prospect.

If it's true that we are getting Brandon League, and Johermyn Chavez, this will be the first Jack Z deal that I don't like. Morrow has issues, but he's a major league ready starter who can still develop into a quality pitcher if you put some time into him. Getting a reliever, and a below average OF prospect isn't enough for Morrow. Chavez was available in the Rule 5 draft and nobody picked him up, that should have been a warning sign.
