Default 49ers @ Seahawks GAMEDAY THREAD

San Francisco (5-6, 3-0 2nd in NFC West) at Seattle (4-7, 2-3 3rd in NFC West)
4:15 ET, 1:15 PT
Stadium: Qwest Field
Announcers: Chris Myers (Play-by-Play) and Ross Tucker (Color Commentator) (Fox)
Last Meeting: 49ers won 23-10 in the week 2 match-up. Frank Gore rushed for 207-yards and the 49-ers looked like the team to beat in the West. It was that game also that Matt Hasselbeck bruised his ribs and left the game and missed time.

Analysis:
The last time the two met the 49ers had a field day with the running game, while the Seahawks rushing defense didn’t show up without Brandon Mebane. This week the Seahawks defense looks to show up and continue to fight for a spot in the Playoffs. Unlike the first meeting hopefully the Seahawks will have a healthy Hasselbeck throughout the game. If he does with a healthy running game in Julius Jones and a semi-healthy Justin Forsett look for the Seahawks to be able to tire the 49ers defense out and allow the passing game to get going. The last time the two met the Seahawks scored all of their points in the second quarter. In order to come out with the win they need to score as much as they can every quarter. That means they can’t settle for field goals when they get into the Red Zone. In order to do that Hasselbeck has to get John Carlson involved along with the receivers.
Defensively the Seahawks have said they will increase pressure on offenses for the remainder of the year. In order to do that it starts up front. Patrick Kerney is healthy and it looks like Daryl Tapp and Lawrence Jackson will split time opposite of him with Cory Redding out. David Hawthorne is stealing the show as an undrafted Free Agent in 2008. Now he’s leading the defense and look for him to keep up his success as the Seahawks look to stay in the hunt. Marcus Trufant has been in a little slump with his pass interference calls and he will have to defend a young rookie in Michael Crabtree. The Secondary will have to settle down and keep the pressure on Alex Smith.

Were going for a playoff spot. Win out the rest of the season and we got it, as long as Arz losses 3 games

Having a high draft pick would be bad for cap space. If we can get two picks around 15-25 that would be good enough to get some guys to help turn this team around.
