Default Seahawks at Rams GAMEDAY THREAD

Seattle Seahawks (3-7, 1-3 3rd Place in NFC West) at St. Louis Rams (1-9, 0-3 4th Place in NFC West)
Stadium: Edward Jones Dome
Announcers: Fox- Ron Pitts (play-by-play) and John Lynch (color commentator)
Last Meeting: Seahawks shut out the Rams 28-0 in the season/home opener at Qwest winning 28-0. Matt Hasselbeck passed for 279-yards and Julius Jones rushed for 117-yards in the win.
Head-to-Head: Seahawks 13-9

Analysis:
The one thing the Seahawks have done this season that has been a consistent thing is play inconsistent. One week the Seahawks offense and defense looks like a first-place team, but then the next week they look like a team that could be playing for the first pick of the 2010 NFL Draft. Offensively the Seahawks need to protect Hasselbeck and set the run up with Justin Forsett making his second career start in place of the injured Julius Jones. Forsett wasn’t much productive against a strong run defense in the Vikings. This week the Seahawks look to snap a two-game losing streak and could use the help from the passing game.
With Marc Bulger out the Rams are expected to run and run all day. If and when the Rams pass the Seahawks need to pressure Kyle Boller and make him earn the points. One thing that’s been inconsistent with the Seahawks defense is the lack of pressure on the QB. If the Seahawks can establish that they might look like the team in week one that shut out the Rams.

Prediction: Seahawks win on a missed Josh Brown field-goal 21-20.

Connections:
-Seahawks Defensive Assistant/Secondary coach Larry Marmie worked in St. Louis in 2004-05.
- Kicker Josh Brown signed with the Rams after the 2007 season after spending 2003-07 in Seattle.
-Rams Punter Donnie Jones played in six games for the Seahawks in 2004 which was his rookie year. He averaged 38 yards a punt with one block.
-Rams Wide Receiver Jordan Kent signed with them after the Seahawks cut him. He was a Seahawk in 2008 having played in nine games and starting one, but piling up no stats. He had spent one year on their practice squad after being selected in sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft.
-Rams Defensive Back coach Clayton Lopez coached the Seahawks in 1999 until 2001 as its Defensive assistant/quality control coach. Then he took over as assistant secondary coach in 2002 until 2003.
-Rams Defensive Coordinator Ken Flajole spent 1999-2002 with the Seahawks as a Defensive Backs and Linebacker coach during that span.

Seahawks News of the Week:
-NONE TO REPORT THIS WEEK

Default Re: Seahawks at Rams GAMEDAY THREAD

Josh Wilson is a monster!! Sure wish I could watch this game...WHY Fox is showing the Skins/Eagles game in CA is beyond me. Maybe Wilson could be our DVP of the season?
